Our Vets qualified at the University of Pretoria, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort and are members in good standing of the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC). We adhere to the high standards and ethics demanded by the SAVC.
As well as being an important member of the family, we know that each pet is an individual with his or her own personality.
Being pet owners ourselves, we want the best standards for our pets. We therefore provide that same standard for our patients.
Our vets, nurses and staff attend Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs within the veterinary field.
Paul has been with Blue Cross since 2001 as a small animal vet, seeing anything from a Great Dane to a Hamster.
He has a keen interest in pocket pets such as rabbits and hamsters.
He has 5 dogs, 4 cats, 3 birds and 6 guinea pigs, 10 rabbits, 4 rats, a hamster, and a lovely horse.
Paul is married to Samantha, and they have 2 beautiful children together, Rebecca and Ethan.
Paul loves cycling and running and does some events for charity, such as free sterilisations for local animal rescue organization, Aid 4 Animals in Distress.
Liam graduated from Onderstepoort in Pretoria in 2001 and has been with Blue Cross since 2010.
He enjoys small animal medicine and surgery. He has a keen interest in cats, dogs, rats, and reptiles.
Together with Dr Donnellan, they have 2 beautiful children, Tessa, and James, as well as 3 dogs, a cat and 2 birds.
Liam enjoys the outdoors, camping, climbing, bird watching and surfing.
Herman graduated from Onderstepoort in 1977 and has many years of experience.
He has a keen interest in ophthalmology, surgery and dentistry.
Herman has 3 dogs and enjoys photography, hiking, reading and is a gym fanatic.
Francois has been with Blue Cross since 1980 and is our resident equine surgeon. He has an interest in surgery, lameness’s, endurance horses and equine breeding.
He is a part time farmer and loves to go on outrides with his family. He is married to Sandra and together, they have 2 beautiful daughters.
His youngest daughter is a veterinarian as well and is specializing in equine surgery at Onderstepoort.

Cynthia is an equine medicine physician and has been with Blue Cross since 2009.
She obtained her Masters in Equine Internal Medicine and was a lecturer at Onderstepoort before joining our team at Blue Cross.
Together with Dr Bebbington, they have 2 beautiful children, Tessa, and James, as well as 3 dogs, a cat and 2 birds. Cynthia enjoys hiking, camping, climbing, surfing, horse riding and reading.
